Privacy Policy

Overview

Prime SEO ("the Plugin") is a WordPress SEO plugin developed by the Prime SEO team. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Plugin collects, how it is stored, and what external services it connects to.

Data Storage

All data generated and managed by Prime SEO is stored locally in your WordPress database. This includes:

• SEO settings and configuration
• Post and page meta data (titles, descriptions, keywords)
• Redirect rules and hit counts
• 404 error logs (URL, referrer, user agent, and IP address for debugging purposes)
• AI crawler visit logs (bot name, URL, timestamp)
• Backup files stored in your wp-content directory

Prime SEO does not send any of this data to our servers or any third-party analytics service.

External Services

The Plugin connects to external services only when you explicitly use certain features:

IndexNow API (Free)

• Service: IndexNow (indexnow.org)
• When: When you click "Submit to IndexNow" or enable auto-submit on post publish
• Data sent: Your site's URLs (the pages you choose to submit)
• Purpose: Request faster indexing by search engines (Bing, Yandex, and others)
• Privacy: IndexNow Privacy Policy

Prime SEO AI service (PRO, default since 1.2.1)

• Service: prime-seo-plugin.com/api/ai/ (our own website), which relays the request to OpenAI with our key
• When: When you use "Generate with AI", "Generate All with AI", the AI Bulk Generator or the AI Content Score with "Included with Pro" selected in AI Settings
• Data sent: The post title, excerpt and content (up to 500 words) and the focus keyword; your Freemius install id and license key so the service can check the license; the site address for that check only
• Stored on our side: Per-license counters (generations used this month) and a log line per request with the license id, install id, status, token counts and duration. Prompts, generated texts, site addresses and IP addresses are not stored
• Purpose: Generate SEO titles, descriptions and social meta within the 500 generations a month included with PRO
• Retention: Counters for the current month and the two before it; the request log is kept for usage statistics and abuse checks

OpenAI API (PRO, with your own key)

• Service: OpenAI (openai.com)
• When: Same features as above, when "My own OpenAI key" is selected in AI Settings
• Data sent: Post title, excerpt, and content for SEO metadata generation
• Purpose: Generate SEO titles, meta descriptions, and keywords using AI
• Note: Uses the API key you saved; the request goes from your site to OpenAI and nothing passes through our servers
• Privacy: OpenAI Privacy Policy

Freemius (PRO licensing)

• Service: Freemius (freemius.com)
• When: When you activate a PRO license or manage your subscription
• Data sent: License key, site URL, WordPress version, PHP version
• Purpose: License validation and subscription management
• Privacy: Freemius Privacy Policy

Deactivation survey (Free, optional)

• Service: prime-seo-plugin.com (this website)
• When: Only if you pick a reason and press "Submit & Deactivate" in the dialog shown when you deactivate the plugin. "Skip & Deactivate" and "Cancel" send nothing
• Data sent: The reason you selected, your optional comment, the Prime SEO, WordPress and PHP versions, and the site language
• Not sent or stored: Site address, email address, personal data. Your IP address is used only as a salted hash, for one hour, to limit abuse, and is not saved with the answer
• Purpose: To learn why people stop using the plugin and fix those problems

Cookies

The Plugin itself does not set any cookies. However, the Analytics module (if enabled) may use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.

This Website

The website prime-seo-plugin.com is a static site. We do not use cookies, trackers, or analytics on this website. The contact form is processed by Formspree, which handles your submitted name, email, and message. See Formspree Privacy Policy.

Your Rights

Since all plugin data is stored in your own WordPress database, you have full control over it:

• Access: View all data through the WordPress admin panel
• Export: Use the Plugin's built-in Export tool to download all settings and meta data
• Delete: Uninstalling the Plugin removes all options, meta keys, database tables, and transients
• Portability: Use the Export/Import feature to transfer data between sites

Children's Privacy

Prime SEO is a WordPress admin tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. For significant changes, we will include a notice in the Plugin's changelog.
