Frequently Asked Questions
Is Prime SEO a free WordPress SEO plugin?
Yes. The plugin on WordPress.org is free and includes meta tags, XML sitemaps, schema markup, redirects, a 404 monitor, IndexNow, llms.txt and the AI Bots Manager. Prime SEO Pro is a separate paid version that adds AI writing features.
What is an AI SEO plugin?
The term covers two things: preparing a site for AI search products such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, and using AI to do SEO tasks such as writing meta descriptions. Prime SEO does the first in the free version and the second in Pro.
Can I switch from Yoast SEO or Rank Math without losing data?
Yes. The migration tool imports your SEO titles, descriptions, focus keywords, canonical URLs and robots settings, and redirects from Rank Math. Run it once, check a few posts, then deactivate the old plugin.
Does Prime SEO create an llms.txt file?
Yes. It is generated automatically and served at /llms.txt as soon as the plugin is active. You can edit it in the dashboard and switch on llms-full.txt with the full text of your content.
Which WordPress and PHP versions are supported?
WordPress 5.6 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. The plugin is tested with WordPress 7.1.
